MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 David Wright is not having a nice day.Later
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Wright: 0-3 with 3 Ks.Note to morons: Please don't blame the HR derby.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Even tho Wright hasnt been totally dry, he looks lost up there at the plate. You know he's gonna snap out of it............eventually.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Vanentin is out and Woody is in for him at second. Some speculation he may have injured himself on the bases that last half, running into Utley on the Milledge double play. They didnt collide or anything, but he may have tried to stop short and quick to avoid the tag.No replay-----but live it looked like he just ran straight into Utleys tag.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Vamos Carlos AND the other one! Wow.I agree about Zvon's Ka-Booms - they're magnificent. And I hope that Porn Stash is ok.6-2 Mets after five innings.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Maine is quietly pitching a fine game.Hope this shuts up the reporters who say he's not a good arm to count on from here on out. He's no fluke-the kid can pitch.

Wow.I agree about Zvon's Ka-Booms - they're magnificent. Thanks SK.I think the whole concept of the kaboom post makes the IGTs more interactive fun for the fans.Wright makes a GREAT diving snag of Victoinos chopper down the third base line, but cant throw him out.And that DAMN pesky Utley hits a really nice pitch by Maine, high and outside, for a bloop single to center. He had no business touching that pitch with his bat, and just flicked it out there. And Howard JUST misses one to center. Beltran hauls it in on the track.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Bottom 6TH B:0 S:0 O:0New York Mets third baseman Jose Valentin left the game due to an injured leg.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Ryan Howard trying to ruin my day.Exhale.

I'm assuming they mean second baseman, unless Wright is DHing today.Second, can someone share what happened for those of us stuck with a GameCast?

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Valentin's injury was described a few posts back.I was really getting nervous in that last inning. I had to remind myself to exhale.Later

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Wow---thats almost nicer to see than the homers--Delgado rips a wicked line drive by 1st base, in the hole -its hit so hard Dellucci slides to cut it off from the wall, and he kicks it into the corner.Beltran scores easily- and as of now Delgado is credited with a triple.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Radio sez - Valentin: strained hammy.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Keith was livid that Delgado was credited with a triple on that play - he thought it was a single and that Delucci committed an error on the play.

What does he know about running?(Yeah, I know. He stole home in a world Series game. )Later

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Really---I mean really nice 3 pitch strike out by Bradford of the pinch hitter Rowand. He gets Rollins to pop out to Wright-Victorino smacks a grounder off of Chads leg for an infield single.Bradford saved a run with the deflection to Delgado---Mets go to the bullpen for Feliciano.I dont think Chad was hurt at all by the grounder--I think that Feliciano was coming in to face Utley in any case.Bases loaded for the Phils- 2 out.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Feliciano strikes out Utley. Whew!7-2 Mets going to the 8th!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Feliciano strikes out Utley! He had him chase the 2nd strike out of the zone, as Utley tried to check his swing, and froze him with a low curve ball for strike 3.He was lookin fastball all the way.Great job by the pen.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 And for his good work, Willie pinch hits Franco for Feliciano.Hey, its two outs. Why not let him bat for hinmself and then face Howard, who is first up in the bottom of the inning?(shameless second guess)Later
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I guess all the talk of Castros death have been greatly exaggerated. He pitches a 1-2-3 iniing for the Phils.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Burrell strikes out to a LOUD chorus of boos.Pats gone on record saying hes not happy with the new Phillies outfield rotation stratagy since the Abreu trade. Thinks he should be playing everyday.I guess he dont get it-- the Phils were tryin to move him harder than Abreu--no one wanted him.
