Okay, hopefully the final live action installment of Clerks is here, and I hope to see it Saturday

Plans are still being made about a cartoon style version of a movie as well as a continuing comic book

Pretty decent flick, made as a valentine to Kevin Smith's fanbase I'd say more than anything.

Clearly production values were increased, I mean from a film made by a fresh out of film college student, financed by credit cards and shot mostly at night to a major Hollywood film I'd HOPE the production values went up

Like the first one, the story line was focused mainly on "A Day In The Life" though a prologue and epilouge do stretch several months prior and after, and centered around the love life of Dante Hicks and how that affected his friendship with Randal Graves.

Pretty decent lines, the usual Smith flare of completely raunch-ing up the film and a number of cool callbacks to the original.

Jay & Bob of course are back, but mostly background players, but more so than they were in the original. Sadly no Bezerker...and no Snowball (The Clerks Scott Moiser version, Ethan Suplee was in it but not as the Mallrats Snowball) Other than Dante, Randal, Jay and Bob, no other ViewAskewniverse characters were seen, and only one other was mentioned by name. Jason Lee and Ben Affleck both show up though as well as some of the usual Smith friends and family

In all a good sequel. It did not reek of "Oh, WHY did this movie HAVE to be made?" the way most do.

By the way, did Joel Siegel miss Bachelor Party? Because thats what the beastilty was referenecing. Then again, what was Siegel expecting after seeing what transpired in the first Clerks?

Anyway, suffice to say, there wasn't anything that you needed to call AAPCTA or PETA, or any watchdog groups

i like some of Smith's work (CHASING AMY, DOGMA) and even the ones i dislike (JAY & SILENT BOB, MALLRATS) i still end up watching over and over on cable.

CLERKS is more the latter than the former, but i really liked CLERKS II. Not only better made, its got a bit more heart and soul. And some of the stuff is just laugh-out-loud funny.

He remains more a conceiver of characters and writer of dialogue than a truly adept filmmaker, but there is always something worth seeing even in the worst of his pictures.

what can i say... he speaks to me.

This was an awesome film. I could not stop laughing. Trevor Fehrman was hysterical, and Jeff Anderson still has one of the funniest deliveries of any actor out there, right up there with Christopher Walken and William Shatner.
