Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Looked like Walker didn't get the tag on him anyway.Memories of a generation of phantom tags from Ryne Sandberg.

So yesterday on the train home I finally figure out how to surf the net, dial this place up and -BAM- the first image to appear is the above one that takes up my whole screen!Scared the crap out of me.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Got a chance to watch part of the game on replay:- Woodward def got robbed. They've added an extra small fence behind the "basket-like" out-dropping that sits atop the real fence and the ball cleared the basket before bouncing off the second fence and coming back onto the field. I have no idea what the purpose of that second mini-fence is but they say that's at elast the 3rd time the umps have screwed up a visiting team's HR call just this year.- Nady's slide that broke up the DP leading to 2 runs was hard & aggressive and justabout legal, but the Cubs really don't have much of a beef. First of all the SS got rid of the ball before Nady ever touched him so it's his fault that he threw wide (and the 2nd baseman for a slow flip). Once Nady did hit him foot-to-foot several feet off the line he reached out for the base and would have had it with longer fingers. Technically could have been called I suppose but since it didn't really interfere with the throw and was within inches of being completely legit I'm not surprised they didn't.
