A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Blacked out of both games by MLB.TV. That's horse shit, man.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Cabrera needs to be yelled at by his manager... you've got a guy making his major league debut, in the first inning, 2 runners on, and you're swinging at a 3-0 pitch. Thanks!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Miggy Cabrera is a great all-around player but he may be the slowest 23 y/o prof athlete on the planet.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Not the smoothest 1st inning, but Ill take it.Pelfrey hits Uggla with a pitch, which Im sure was due to nerves.I hope this doesnt become a beanball war.I was just jokin in the early IGT about drilling Cabrera again.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Nolasco sounds like one of those made-up corporate names.NOLASCO: NOrthern LouisianA Shrimpfishing COrporation; supplying shellfish to the greater southeast since 1967
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 The triple is becoming the Mets' signature hit. Endy leads off with one.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Endy does his best Reyes with the leadoff triple!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 MMMMM....Chavez with a Reyes like lead off triple.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 And loDuke singles him home!Hey!Just like old times.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Top of the order gives Pelfrey a lead. Lo Duca brings in Endy with a base hit.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Chavez/LoDuca way better than Valentin/Woodward.C'mon guys, I want some more.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Floyd loops a hit. Get this, this is the cool part: Manny Acta told Lo Duca to stop at third.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Sweet, Valentin scores 4 more!No pressure Pelfrey, pitch like you own 'em.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Valentin goes Willis!!! 5-0 Mets! Acta's wise move pays off.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 ="TransMonk"]Chavez/LoDuca way better than Valentin/Woodward.I hope Willie takes note of this.Beltran walks.Wright, yes FK--I have noticed this, Ks.Floyd singles and Val with--THE GRAND KABOOM!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Wright with the error gives one back.Settle down Pelfrey.make your pitches.Crap.....was that a safety squeeze?edit-CBS said Chavez at 1st--this is why reading the game sucks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Well it's not like they smacking the rook around despite the 2 runs thru 2 innings: 3 hits so far but only 1 has left in infield, plus a BB, an HBP, and an error.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 I still dont know if that was a straight squeeze or what, but it reads like one.lol.They would try to rattle the rook with something like that, the stinkin fish that they are.Yea-I read something about worryin about this team (last nites IGT, I think) and I have to agree--this is one team I would worry about ahead of the Phils and the Braves from here on out. From now on they will be the stinkin fish to me.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Nabisco (ok, Nolasco) hits LoDuca.Stinkin fish.Beltran follows with a single, Wright with a walk. Its Cliffy with the bases juiced. And he draws a walk!lol. On 4 pitches.Valentin again with bases loaded.....(drumroll please)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 It was essentially the "safety" squeeze; runners NOT running and getting the bunt down got the a run. Not a bad play when you're behind early like that against an unfamiliar pitcher in tough sunlight time; just chip away at the lead.
