Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 LoDuca DH?!?btw, it's an ESPN game for all you out-of-townersP.S. Either you have your SS & 2B reversed or we're going to check with Willie's shrink.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Umm I'm just going with what Boston.com has, but yeah Reyes can't be playing 2nd, Castro is probably playing because Willie wants to shut down Boston's non-existent running game...
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Only thing I can think of is Reyes' arm hurts too much so he can only make shorter throws. But if that was true then he shouldn't be in the lineup at all.More likely an error by that website.I'd MUCH rather see Chavez and Nady then Chavez and Milledge.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Author Posted June 28, 2006 Nady bruised his wrist last night so I assume that's why he's out.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Nady is day to day. Expect a big game at the plate from the rook.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'm not sure why -- if we're not going to use the DH to "rest" Delgado, Reyes, Beltran or Wright -- Julio Franco isn't getting the ABs.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 MLB.com gameday shows Reyes SS and Valentin 2B as expected.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Rare appearance by Mr. Met at a road game.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Good for Pedro, good for Boston.Nice ovation.Beckett throws hard.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Mr. Met is at Fenway on top of the Mets' dugout applauding Pedro's entrance?!? I've seen everything.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Failure to turn the DP by Pedro is ominously bad...
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Crap - 2-0 Red Sox, still only one out.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Make that 4-0 on another bad error by Milledge.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Trade Milledge NOW!!!Zito looks better everyday.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'd love to have Zito, but I'm not looking to trade Milledge. That said, Milledge just wrote his ticket back to Norfolk, with instructions that he needs to work on his friggin' fielding!
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 If theyb trade LM to boston, they'll need to move him to right.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Holy Nightmare 1st innings Batman!Lastings looks like he wants to crawl in a hole right now.Of course had Pedro not brain-locked earlier (and given up 3 hits) it wouldn't have gotten to that point.Time to get on yer hittin' shoes boys.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Beckett is dealing.Milledge now has more K's than hits for the year.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Leftfield at Fenway has made much more seasoned visiting outfielders lookjust as silly as Milledge, Mrs. Fields ... let's not pile on just to get a Zito post in. Everyone has an agenda.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Oh jeez, this is getting ugly now. Darren Oliver threw 60 pitches on Saturday, that's 3 days rest...hopefully he can go a few if necessary.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 The post was in jest...mostly.I don't care about Zito. But Milledge has done very little to impress me.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I was mocking Scarlet, TM, not realizing I was piggy backing you on the mock lol.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 8 to nothing, Red Sox.This game is rather anticlimactic, isn't it?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Delgado homer makes it 8-1.This isn't a quality start for Pedro, is it?
The Big O Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Oliver on; cue approximately 1 hojillion scoreless innings
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 What? No video montage for ex-Red Sock Darren Oliver?
