seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 LinkBizarre. But I have to at least get the Keith Hernandez one. (Like I need an excuse to visit my local DD.)
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Strange choice of players. Sid over Doc? Clearly, they've based their selection on things that have happened well after 1986.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I don't care. I'm getting them all.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I know I might make a lot of enemies by saying this. . . But DD's coffee is absolutely disgusting. I haven't had a good cup of coffee from DD in 5+ years. Why everyone loves them so much, I have no idea. Not worth going in there for the quarters, if you ask me.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I don't drink coffee. I'll get a donut or something.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 MMYF got me the Lenny Dykstra nickel and patch.Later
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 (obviously I didn't piss of Elster, so I will do my best here)Their donuts are worse than their coffee. DD muffins are the only things that they sell that don't make me want to punch donkies.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 DD iced coffee is ok.I'm a fan of the old fashioned Dunkin' Donuts with the little handles.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 FWIW, DD now also offers travel mugs in limited-edition Mets and Yankees varieties for $3.99 each. I agree on the odd choice of players; nothing against Sid, who's probably one of my Top 5 Mets Ever (at least Top 10), but there are other guys who should be there.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Dunkin' Donuts coffee does blow chunks.Starbucks is better by far.I have an espresso machine and I usually buy my beans at Oren's in Grand Central (I recommend the 'Beowulf Blend'). In a pinch I'll grab a bag of Italian dark roast beans from Starbucks. One time I had no beanage and was flipping out. There's a Dunkin' right up the street from me so I ran there and grabbed a bag o' beans. Dis-gust-ing.And if their coffee wasn't so bad, Krispy Kreme's got it all over them on the donut side. Are they selling the Mets New York quarters in Connecticut and are they actually legal tender?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I enjoy a Dunkin Donut. The name Krispy Kreme turns me off, and not only because of the awful spelling. Cream isn't supposed to be crispy. If it is, something's dreadfully wrong.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I dan't care for DD coffee either and I used to hate when they would ask if you wanted sugar and then put way to many spoons in....hated it.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 I don't need more donuts in my life. If they're that good, I'm better off not eating them.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Some ball parks make a bacon-cheeseburger made with two Krispy Kremes replacing the buns.I haven't tried one yet. Which you can tell because I'm still alive.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 It's been a long while since we had a thread about doughnuts.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Hah, back then I was a DD man.....only the doughnuts though.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Tune in in June, 2007 when I relate how I hate the spelling of Krispy Kreme, and the image it evokes for me! You won't want to miss it!
