Guest KC Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Is Floyd approaching a record for not being the DL but being unavailable?SC=87.539%
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 If so he's breaking a record probably held by a Met already, it seems to me like we've had this "problem" of guys in limbo between playing and the DL alot over the last 10 years.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 What the hell happened? It was the first inning and the Mets didn't score? I don't understand!
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Soler throws a soft pitch out. Willie needs to ball him out and the press needs to write about this rookie mistake for about a week. I think it's a character flaw.Back to the PBP: Soler leaves two on by inducing the ground out.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Valentin's alleged "smart" bunt sure looks like a dumb play now.We turned 2nd and 3rd, 0 out into a puny little rally and left a shaky Soler to lead off the next inning. The error obviously didn;t help either.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Hernandez evidently calls DeMuth a cough sufferer and will watch the rest of the game in the clubhouse.Nice job for Soler to K out the side after an error and 2 hits give the O's a lead.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Nice to hear Ralph in the booth ... gotta love it.Through 5 1/2, Mets down 2-1. Soler has hit a stride of sorts, I think ex-tinguising at least the last eight or nine.
The Big O Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Valentin gets the first Met hit off Bedard, who walks Woody. Bedard's heard about LM's attitude, so he fans him. Then Alay sacs, Reyes delivers a 2-out 2-rib double and then steals 3rd. Plod F8 to end the inning. 3-2 Mets.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Mets lead 3-2 on the Reyes double!Reyes steals 3rd and says "fuck you Patterson, i'm the MLB steals king"
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Soler left after 6.in the 7th, Roberts with an rbi grounder to tie it at 3.wheres the love in the "welcome home" IGT? 11 posts? bah!
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Damn - tie game in the 7th as Heilman walks the first two batters and Delgado bobbles a ball at first. Soler can't get the win.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 F'n formula pitching. Soler had thrown 101 pitches, With the bottom of the order coming up, he had an other inning in him. What makes a decent relief pitcher is not only stuff, but the ability to snap back after pitching the day before (physically and mentally). Maybe Heilman is a better starter just because he thinks he is one.Later
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Reyes can't make the diving catch and its 4-3 Orioles
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Reyes can't make what would have been a spectacular catch, and the Orioles regain the lead.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Mora's homer gives the Orioles a 3-run lead.Heilman hasn't been effective in a while, has he?

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 pitching well gets you kept in relief because you're good at it, pitching poorly doesnt get you a shot at the rotation. if you're heilman and really want to start you'll have to wait for free agency and sign with a team (Cincinatti? Pitsburgh? Texas?) that will promise to start you.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Win streak over.Still, I can't remember being this happy after a loss ever, its nice to have a huge lead isn't it?
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 BTW the Phillies rebounded nicely from the disater that was this week against the Mets by scoring 4 runs in Tampa. They gave up 10!BOS 4 ATL 1 in the 9thWatch out for the Marlins! They are leading 3-1 in the 9th against Toronto!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 First time all year I can remember second-guessing Willie because I thought he pulled a starter too early. Soler was cruising and the pitch count wasn't all THAT high and was due to hit next inning. I would have like to see him start that inning and pull him if/when he got into trouble. That said we lost because Heilman suxxed, Delgado got a case of the fumbles, and we got a whopping total of 5 hits.Listening to late-night talk radio however, we never have won or will win another game as long as Willie is at the helm. 2nd loss in two weeks and it's downright fuckin' vicious.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
