Doesn't Wright lead the team in walk-off hits this year?Surely he does -- he doubled to beat the Braves in the 14th, plus the single against the MFY ... and probably some other really obvious one I can't remember.I think Howie said that was Heilman's first gopher allowed this year.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Thats 15 one run wins for the Mets.Thats the kinda thing a championship team does.Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 Is it fair that Heilman, or anyone, is given a blown save for losing the lead in an inning that would not have earned him a save even if he completed it?Shouldn't it be called a blown hold or something?
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I'd argue that this is not about a team playing over its head. This is about a team that is better than most of the teams it plays. In baseball, that can often equate to one-run wins. It's the nature of the game.

Set-up guys run the risk of the BS but rarely ever get the chance to complete the save so their S/BS pcts generally suck even when they don't.
