he just used the term 'stud muffin'. That's not so terrific.

His girlish giggle, and jock-ish bluster, and irritating voice, and self-centered approach to broadcasting (and the universe in general) make me very uninterested in his appearance, but thanks for the heads up. Now i can avoid the FAN even more than i usually do.

Yes, he knows a great deal about pitching, and once in a while deems it acceptable to communicate some of it... and yes, he's the all-time greatest Met, yada yada yada blah blah blah. But i just can't stand him.

i know its heresy. Bret can throw a blanket for me on his couch, i'm sure, if my ostracism is necessary for espousing such a view. but there it is. i said it.

I think of him in terms of high school... he always struck me as that bullying jock who pushed nerds into their lockers; the kind of clean-cut, nice bright lad who bought his term papers; like the class president who secretly date-raped the prom queen and she was too ashamed to report it .... well, you get the picture.

I'm sure Mr. Seaver is a perfectly nice guy (actually i'm not sure of that at all), but I've hated him my entire life, and it irritates me that he's still the only real "HOF Met", with his number on the wall. This is why i root so hard for David Wright. If everything breaks right, he could one day supplant Tom Terrific as the face of the franchise, making my fandom a little easier.

So I guess you don't think he's a stud muffin, huh?

Vic,
While you're at Bret's place, check and see if he has an inflatable mattress for me too. I feel the same way, and like you, always did.

Did the interview touch on if he was approached by the Mets to do any
more broadcasting or was he basically given the F X Healy?

I don't miss him, I'm just curious. Seaver's assholedom has been covered
here a number times, but watching him interact with old teamates and
HOF types from time to time they seem to like him and respect him. So
I give him a small pass, there must be something there. It's a shame that
the best Met ever won't even make eye contact with you in the Diamondclub
elevator though - I mean I worshiped the man as a kid. Fuck 'im.

Well you're not Tipsy, Queasy, Sleazy, Dizzy or Remorseful and you're definitely not Edgy.

I agree with Vic. And for me, it's probably even worse because I never rooted for him as a kid, and my greatest exposure to him was as a broadcaster.

I hate to say it, but he reminds me of Clemens in a lot of ways.

I don't hate hime near as much as the selfish bastard Piazza or that kiss-ass Wright!!

Agree with Vic, I hated listening to him do games, rarely knew much about the opposing team, would beat a point about a pitchers mechanics to death, and I really hated it when his partner would call him Mr.Seaver...

Take it easy, Norrin. It's hardly heresy when the majority agree with you.

You lose me here.

These were three different peeps in my school. What kind of school did you go to? At least all of your sociopaths were contained in one person.

That God damn terrorist Delgando is on now trying to raise money for charity. Helping kids or something by selling wrist bands. I've always hated that fucker the way he dissed our country.

It seems about as rational as unloading on Seaver, like thats never been done before.

Now it's Billy Wagner. Song stealing scum!

I caught the tail end of Wagner. Did Dipshit and the Jerkwad have the balls to call him all the stuff ("disgraceful", etc) that they called him behind his back for swiping Sandman's Sacred Song?. That's one of the worst things about M & the Merde Dog, their respectful polite tone on the air with people whom they've slandered and railed against repeatedly.

OE: moved prepositional phrase to better spot in the sentence.

I'm only half listening, but I don't think it came up. They did ask him about his three blown saves.
