Love...
Is gentle as a rose
And love...
Can conquer any war
Its time to take a stand
Brothers and sisters join hands

We got to let love rule!
Let...
Love...
Rule...
We got to let love rule!
Let...
Love...
Rule...

Love...
Transcends all space and time
And love...
Can make a little child smile
Oh cant you see
This wont go wrong
But we got to be strong
We cant do it alone

We got to let love rule!
Let...
Love...
Rule...
We got to let love rule!
Let...
Love...
Rule...

We got to let love rule!
Let...
Love...
Rule...
We got to let love rule!
Let...
Love...
Rule...

Classic game. Good hustle by Beltran to set up the winning run. Nice job by most of the pen.

Delgado came up as a catcher - put Glavine at 1st

Interesting, didn't think about that. I think Nady would go to first though. Maine might be able to play OF.

If it was 2005, we could've had Roberto Hernandez as the emergency catcher.

Tommie Reynolds, where are you?

Maine is Gimpy.

I doubt Glavine would be at first. He or Zambrano would go to weakside outfielder and Xavier Nady would play first.

who IS the emergency catcher?

MLB should have a rule that you can use the bullpen catcher but only if your other 2 catchers are out of the game (kinda like the 3rd QB in the NFL, if you use him before the 4th you can't go back to anyone else or something like that)

What a game.
So much to love. (good D, the pen except for Wagner, great comebacks, huge rally, Floyd's homerun --which he missed by only a few feet in the prior at bat.) I also love how Keith let his hair down in the booth--this time without putting his foot in his mouth so much (although some might not have appreciated his geezer imitation).

And so much that was disturbing. (Runners left on, missed opportunities, and most of all Billy Wagner giving up the longball. By the way, what's a Betamit?)

I'll sure take the W, but is anyone worried about the closer?

Say it with me... Loo.... ah, never mind.

Chris Woodward, when available.

I like wars of attrition. I never heard that NFL rule. I wouldn't like that.

Part of the great fun of sports is seeing people stretched beyond the challenge of their comfort zone.

That was a good game.

Great hustle by Beltran to get to second. Otherwise, he would have had to stop at 3rd and we might still be playing.

After Woodward, I bet Wright would do the best job at catcher, I just don't ever want him playing there. Zambrano had probably gone home by the time he would've been needed, so Glavine in the OF would've been the solution. Definetly no Pedro in the field.

Should also be noted that with the win, Mets now have best record in baseball again (tied with ChiSox).

Yeah it def wouldn't be Zamby as he's pitching the next day.

Woodward's possible for the 3rd backstop in a generic way but he had already come and gone by that point.

The 3rd catcher call might not be as tuff as figuring out which pitcher goes in and where. Glavine seems like the best athlete although you'd hardly want him throwing a lot the day after he pitched. Trax might be next but of course not tonight either. Who knows about Maine and I'd tie Pedro's showlaces to the bench before allowing him out of the dugout on non-game days.

So it would almost certainly have to be Glavine, or else do a Oliver/Julio switching between the mound and a position (1st of OF) depending on the hand-ed-ness of the batter stunt.

Delgado caught five innings early in his career. Once Woody and Castro were used and had Lo Duca been forced to leave (and I assume it would have to have been at gunpoint), I had CD behind the plate, Nady going to first and Glavine in right.

I could live with losing a game having Nady behind the plate, over the marginally experienced Delgado, a lot longer than I could live if Delgado got hurt.

Emergency catchers should be your most disposable player. That's probably Matsui, with um, a pitcher in the outfield, Wright at second, and Nady at third.

That's the ticket!

I think I would have had a heart attack if Delgado put on the tool belt.
