Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Poo Holes is 7th in the NL with a .346 BA. He's 4 up in the year-long home run derby (14) and 3 up in RBI (32).
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 if anybody can win the TC, it would be Alberto.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 Pujols leads the NL with 25 HR and 65 RBI , Albert though is not in the top ten in BA with .315, Freddy Snchez of Pittsburgh leads the league with .358.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 And he's on a pace to challenge, if not blow away two single season records while doing it, Baroid's single season HR record and Hack Wilson's single season RBI record (190?).Later
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 i hope he loses the crown by one category... batting average to david wright!
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I'd be okay with Wright out-homering him and out-RBI-ing him too.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 It would be a shame if Pujols got injured and we had to shoot him.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I voted for Delgado in the All-Star balloting. But I knew...who was I kidding?
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=cardinalspujols&prov=st&type=lgnsSo much for that.

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2006 Author Posted June 5, 2006 ]On Sunday, Pujols told ESPN's Harold Reynolds that the Cardinals' medical staff told him that the injury might not keep him out past the 15 days that he is on the DL. On Saturday, Dr. George Paletta, the team's orthopedic consultant said that Pujols could be out as long as six weeks.Pujols also told Reynolds he was up and around and feeling better. There are very few rules in life that I follow without exception, but one that I do follow is "Never believe anything Harold Reynolds says. Ever."
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 You figure that Pujols didn't tell him that?

They got to talking and it turned out that the model was Harold Reynolds girlfriend. She was later on the phone with Reynolds and asked my friend if he'd like to say hi.My friend gets on the phone and Reynolds proceeds to tell him that Glendon Rusch is the second coming. Based on what Reynolds saw of Rusch in 2000 Series he guarantees that Glendon is on the cusp of a dominating career. Friend calls me immediately after that conversation and both of us giggle like schoolgirls for weeks after that.I wet my pants for no reason that day.
Guest ABG Guests Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 It really is a shame that this had to happen. The guy was having an historic season.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 That's something that's neat about baseball. You can be 'on pace' for 800 homeruns in a season but if you don't stay hot or healthy...Matt Williams was on pace to hit 62 homeruns when they struck in '94 (43 ding dongs on August 11).Not that those numbers mean anything post-steroid but that was another possibly historic season that fell by the wayside.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
