Floyd going yard is the most pleasing out of the three home runs. With Nady and LoDuca (presumably) coming back to earth, we need him to pick up the slack.

Beltran too, of course.

]With Chris Woodward batting, Jose Reyes caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Brian Schneider to first baseman Nick Johnson to second baseman Jose Vidro.

Jose picked off first by the catcher?

Holy shit these Mets are amazin, but as M&MD like to keep saying, look who they are playing......I hate that shit...

No doubt that were gushing over the Yanks' come from behind win against the Royals in the home opener.

Agreed. But they do get to play these guys (and the Marlins) 38 games this season. If the Mets are going to be successful, they have to beat up these teams when they get the chance to do so.

Reyes stumbles on a steal attempt, gets caught stealing, onto the bottom of the 2nd still 4-0.

First two get on, but Zambrano induces a double play and a fly ball to get out of the inning. Still 4-0.

Hah! That was a good one.

Still, Milwaukee & Atlanta will be much better tests for our revamped team than Florida or Washington.

31 pitches through 2. Not bad Victor.

7 innings, 105 pitches would be nice. A few more runs, let Julio or Bradford do mop up, save the bullpen.

Make it happen.

These are nice words -- Zambrano induces double play. I was worried he'd let them right back into the game. Gotta step on them when they're down. Make them start thinking ahead to having the night off tonight before their next series ( . . . Hmm . . where to eat dinner . . . wonder if that babe is free . . .)

Zambrano needs 5 good innings.

Delgado gets in on the fun after Beltran draws a walk. 6-0. Warm up the pen, Frank.

I'm out of Boom images.

Delgado takes one out, a 2-run homer.

6-0 Mets

Livan pitches around Beltran (according to Yahoo! Sports) and Delgado's at the plate.

Who promptly homers.

Jesus fucking Christ, I love our team.

Lesson #1: Do Not Pitch to Beltran
Lesson #2: Do Not Pitch Around Beltran with Delgado on Deck

Mets batters number threee, four, five and six have all homered, giving me three questions:

1) Have they ever done that before?

2) What's their record (six?) for KABOOM!!!s in a game?

3) Is Willie Randolph the greatest lineup-maker ever?

OK, two questions.

Is there a lamer radio contest than the "Triple Play Challenge"?

What a homer ass kissing eunuch EdColeman is. He just explained last inning how Beltran is having a good season because he seems SOOOOOOO much more relaxed this year than last year. What a fucking douchebag.

How relaxed did Carlos seem, Ed, last week, when he was whining about the boos, and bitching about the love he needed from those rotten stinking demanding fans? Relaxed? You couldn't have pulled a needle out of Beltran's asshole with an SUV, he was so angry and uptight last week. Was last week part of this season, or last season? I forget.

You're exaggerating.

Where has Howie Rose been? Eddie C has done most of the radiocasts so far.

Eh, maybe not as much as usual. Willie Randolph addressed that on M&MD regarding the curtain call issue yesterday; he basically said that Beltran was upset at the fans with the boos, and that might have been the reason why he originally ignored the curtain call.

Is Elster's avatar broken on everybody else's screen?

Maybe. I heard that too, didn't think Willie really made it seem like Beltran was overly upset. I may have misinterpreted it.

In that case, it's also possible that he got more relaxed over the past few days, and that is what Ed Coleman is remarking on. Either way, I'd cut Ed a little more slack.

Ok, so Beltran was pissed at the time. It was still an exaggeration. For what it's worth, going on the road and raking the last couple of games probably *is* somewhat relaxing.

For me it looks like his hyperlink isn't working. I'm seeing the HTML instead of the link itself, and it's expanding the box in which his personal information sits.

"It" being Coleman's eunuch-like characterization of Carlos' state of Zen master-like relaxation as belonging to "this season," correct?

Well, Sal, while they were happening, Gary & Keith DID talk extensively about the boo's, how they were affecting Beltran, and how stupid Beltran was to not want to give them their curtain call.

They also noted how Beltran started to turn the corner with the fans after the home run in game 3. In games 4 & 5, it seemed like a number of fans "went out of their way" (Gary's words) to cheer Beltran. That was my perception as well.

So anyway, it's not like Gary & Keith have been ignoring the booing or excusing Beltran's reaction to it. But for the moment, both he and the fans seem to have moved passed it.

And from what I saw of yesterday's game, he sure as hell looked more comfortable than he did at any point last year.
