Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Doubled in the first at-bat today 4/6/06 to extend it to 38.
Guest cooby Guests Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I forgot about this! What is everybody hoping for? I'm rooting for him to do it.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 I'm rooting for him to do it too.Since I was a kid, there have been three records I wanted to see broken (by non-Yankees):Roger Maris' 61 homers.Lou Gehrig's 2130 games.Joe DiMaggio's 56-game streak.I've seen two of the three fall. I only wish that Rollins didn't have that offseason in the middle of the streak. It leaves open the argument that he didn't really break the record. And it's an argument that has some merit.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 And the all-time longest hitting streak is held by..............Jimmy Rollins!!!Doesn't sound right to me.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 He's got a lot of work to do. 32% more, as a matter of fact.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Some thoughts were expressed here.http://cybermessageboard.ehost.com/getalife/viewtopic.php?t=2817

Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 He's 0-for-3 now but I'm done following him for the day.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 Not looking so good. 0-4 in the bottom of the 7th. Might get one more shot if the Phillies can get some baserunners.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Well that was anti-climactic.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 too late now Jimmy. Was it the Phillies club record?
