Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Fucking MLB. Not only is ESPN showing overtime of the Notre Dame & Michigan, but MLB is BROADCASTING NCAA BASEBALL ONLINE. I mean, seriously--how hard would it be to switch feeds online? Am I alone in thinking this is embarassing?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 No you are not, hopefully next time around a major network will show the WBC, this is horseshit, I turned to ESPN at 9 just in time to see ND tie that game, I was pissed.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 It is live on the MLB.com radio, but jesus, get your act together. I wonder if this would be happening if the US was in the finals . . .
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 It wouldn't surprise me Rotblatt, even if the US was in the fianl for ESPN to stay with the basketball, they are probably obligated too.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Wow Japan and Cuba are in double overtime. F-ing NIT. Not even a real tournament.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 According to Gameday, Japan's got the bases loaded with one out. Hitoshi Tamura at the plate. Meanwhile Michigan has a 3 point lead with 2 minutes left.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Thanks Willets, in the NIT ND is down 1 point with 14+ seconds left....
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Tamura hit by pitch. Japan up 1-0.This is killing me!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Odelin comes in and hits Tamura. Japan up 1-0.
Guest MiniKnight Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Michigan wins the WBC with a 3-pointer!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Game freaking over..Michigan wins.....now lets go ESPN to the WBC....this is a load of bollox.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Let's have some f-ing baseball please!!!!!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 ]Michigan wins the WBC with a 3-pointer!Nice
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Satozaki strikes out on three pitches.Sounds ugly.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 A quick hook for the Cuban starter......
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Ichiro scores Japan's second run on a bases loaded walk.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I get a happy feeling every time they say "Chibba Lotte Marines, Bobby Valentine's club."
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Yeah and you know Bobby loves this, wasn''t he laughed at in some queaters when he said that the standard of ball played in Japan was very high and that he felt they would hold there own in a 7 games series against a MLB team after his team won the Japan title?why don't I have a Rick Aguilera pic?, I had Ron Hunt.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Cuba's going through pitchers like they're going out of style. Japan up 4-0 in the middle of the 1st.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Cuba with a bomb of a homer....smoking
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 In the reactions shots from Havana the guy right in front of the camera has an American flag on his t-shirt. Interesting.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Poor guy will probably not be in the next shot form Havana.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 You're right! He is gone. Scary. I hope he just went for a beer.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Matsusaka is filthy tonight. Holy shit. Giving up that dinger clearly pissed him off. He's struck out 4 of the last 5 batters in just nasty fashion. His splitter, slider & fastball are all just popping. Good stuff.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Ramirez hits a loooong double to left field--he turned around quick on a 94 mph fastball from Matsuzaka. Matsuzaka's fastball looks pretty straight. When he locates it, he seems pretty safe, but when he misses up in the zone, they're handling it pretty well.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Joe Morgan has a limited vocabulary, doesn't he.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 You can tell Matusaka is a highly respected pitcher because he's wearing No. 18.18 is the # reserved for stud pitchers in Japan. Why? I don;t know.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 5 to 1 now for Japan, looks like curtains for Cuba.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Willets Point wrote:Joe Morgan has a limited vocabulary, doesn't he.You're right, but I'm kind of loving Morgan tonight. I think it's interesting when he breaks down a hitter's swing, and the point about Ichiro running straight up the third base line to block the line of sight of the third baseman was nifty. I don't know that i would have picked up on that. J-A-P-A-N JAPAN!!!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 ="Willets Point"]You're right! He is gone. Scary. I hope he just went for a beer.Highly unlikely. I hope he went to change shirts... but i don't find that very likely either.
