Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 No one gets hurt, Beltran and Delgado start hot.I'd like to see Heilman nail a starting role, Soler pitch himself into the picture. I'd like to see Royce Ring fulfill his promise because I like the name Royce Ring. What no one in the Mets organization has ever known -- that a leadoff man should have a really good OBP.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 What are your spring training wishes? A pain free toe for Pedro, and that he skips the WBC. Who are you pulling for to make the the team/ win the position? I'd also like to see Soler make the team. Not sure if I'm rooting for him in the rotation, since I'd like to see Heilman get that job. I hope Zambrano and Matsui have great springs and great seasons so they can maybe get one or two monkeys off their backs. What do you know that Willie seems to ignore? That Billy Williams never hit three homers in a game at Shea Stadium.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 What are your spring training wishes?1) That Matsui can really play second base and if he can't they are able to trade him 2) Julio becomes a good setup man3) Pedro finds the right shoe to alleviate his toe woes 4) That Heilmann continues to get hitters out at a starter, like he showed he could do from the bullpen last year. 5) That Rickey can have the same success teaching Reyes plate patience that he did with Roger Cedeno the year they played together. 6) That Victor Diaz shows that he can be a productive, every day right fielder. Who are you pulling for to make the the team/ win the position? 1) Diaz in right 2) If Matsui fails, then Jeff Keppinger getting the nod at second base (Until Anderson Hernandez is ready)3) Soler What do you know that Willie seems to ignore? That he can't manage - in-game, a lineup, or a pitching staff. Later
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Oh, yeah -- and Lastings Milledge. I'm pulling for him to blaze through spring training, depose both contenders for the right field spot, and win Rookie of the Year.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 That would be cool!Let's throw in a World Series MVP for Lastings, too.
willpie Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I wouldn't mind if Bret Boone returned to his 2001 form. Hell, for that matter, I'd take his 2002 form.
