Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 ]Some questioned Randolfs approach to spring drills, especially when he had the squad practice how to turn an ankle, and stressed NOT to do that in a game.

Guest mlbaseballtalk Guests Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Uh, Lima was one of the "Grandfathered" players into 42? I thought Mariano Rivera was the last one left active?Never mind looked it up and even though he chose not to wear it, he still can...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Yeah he wore #42 at one point but then wound up on the Dodgers who wouldn't let him use it even though he was permitted to via the grandfathering clause. Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Well, for the Dodgers, it's more than a "league-retired" number, it's also retired by the team.
