Along with my new computer I have a new printer/scanner I just installed today and got to test it out on this picture of Mookie Wilson:

This is from the Mets annual exhibition game against the Tides at Harbor Park in 1998. In the late innings, then Mets coach Mookie Wilson got an at bat much to the crowds' approval, although sadly the Mookster struck out (he still looked pretty darn fit though). I took this with a point and shoot camera, nothing fancy like Iubitul has, but had pretty good seats behind home plate so Mookie still comes out decently well.

The bat's almost invisible.

I was scratching my head to come up with a Buffalo/Indianapolis game that would have Mookie and Edgardo on the same team.

Great shot. Could be bigger.

That's the out-of-town scoreboard for the International League.

Oh, I just made it smaller so it wouldn't f'up peoples' browsing. Maybe I can crop around Mookie and enlarge that, but I like being able to see his name on the scoreboard.

Mookie was very popular with the Tidewater Tides before he was popular with the Mets. He got married at home plate before a Tides game back in 1979 or 1980.

I'm corrected. You're probably right.

as stated it was an exhibition game so it's probably one of the players working up a sweat.Great pic Willets.

Have you ever looked at photos from 1986 and wonder if Kevin Mitchell is wearing underwear?

You scan for "Mookie" photos, you get a lot of pets.

Here's a quick and dirty sample of the Mookies out there:

I worry that someday somebody's going to pick the wrong day to come up to Mookie and tell him, "You know, I named my __________ after you" and Mookie's going to slug him.

You're not far off Edgy. A few years ago when those papier mache cows were on display all throughout the City there was a blurb in the New York Times about how there was one cow called the 'Moo-kie' Cow that was decorated in a Mets uniform with Mookie's No.1 on it. It was displayed outside Shea stadium and when Mookie Wilson saw it he was not amused and asked that it be removed. Simply put he said he was not asked and 'did not approve'. He went on to say that 'people come up to me all the time and say 'I named my dog after you' or 'I named my cat after you'. I'm like, well that's your dog or your cat, don't expect me to feel honored.'

I thought it was pretty funny 'cause, well, I named my dog after him. I cut out the article, laminated it and it is on father-in-law's fridge as we speak.
