Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Hernandez is back in....kool.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 i do believe this is the first time I ever saw a hit discribed this way on an online game update. This is a direct quote from CBSsportsline's Gamecenter: Jacobs singled softly to center, Floyd to second.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 And not looking so good.I'm watching the game here in DC. I recognize the voice of Ron Darling from the Jan and Craig Window Factory commercials he used to do. Darling spoke about how, when middle infielders first come up the bigs, veteran pitchers try to knock the bat out of their hands by jamming them inside. This guy has had an amazing season. He started it by being a definitive example of the Mets stupidity by acquiring him. He finished it by being a definitive example of the Mets stupidity by not promoting him and starting him every day.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 What a fantastic at-bat by Floyd.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 nice----Floyd has Loaiza throw 10 pitches and singles.....deeply?it says:Floyd singled to deep left center, Reyes and Diaz scored, Beltran to second.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I have no idea why Floyd ended up only at first and Beltran at second. That was very deep and high. Off the base of the wall.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 2 huge Ks and Trachsel gets out of jam.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 anyone know how this went down?::::Game Notes- Rick Short of the Nationals left the game in the top of the 6th inning due to a separated left shoulder. He was replaced in the lineup by Jamey Carroll.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Reyes bounced one up the middle. Short made a diving backhand stop, but apparently landed on his elbow, which seemingly knocked his shoulder out. He still got up to make a late throw on the playThe painful part to watch was that, after his arm went dead, he couldn't cushion his dive, and the brim of his cap went directly into the ground and drove back up into his forehead, causing his head to recoil.A bad break for a guy who deserves a good one.Trax gets the hook after a leadoff double in the seventh.
