Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Another clue about the non-Smith guy:If you're writing a book about the 1986 Mets, his name has to be in it.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 We can do another one tomorrow.Any category suggestions?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I'd vote no on outfield assists but otherwise whatever you want.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Home runs or savesI just remembered, I won't be able to participate in the next gut-wrnching installment.I'll be on the road through Friday.Have fun, kiddies.Play nice, and remember to share.Later
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 It's hard to find other categories. I would say saves or batting average, though for batting average you'd probably need to give a ton of clues._____________________________This post had the designation 149) Willie Mays

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 This thread started with homers.I can easily do all of Edgy's suggestions except games by position. That one does sound interesting, so maybe I'll take a look at that and see if it's feasible.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Maybe you already have this Yancy, but is there a way to search on MLB awards? Like Cy Young Award, Silver Slugger, etc?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 This page is probably the nearest thing to what you're asking for.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Do you still have a display of most popular over the last three weeks or whatever it was? And least popular?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I had to disable that a month or so ago. The process that was building that information stopped working because of a server "upgrade." I put in another way to build the info, but it crashed the database. The reason it crashed the database has supposedly been fixed, so I plan to restore that feature. However, I don't want to do it until after my upcoming vacation, in case something else goes wrong. I don't want the database to be down for a week or more while I'm getting chased by bears in Alaska.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 Wow, I just reread this thread. I had promised another fun game the following day, but never followed through.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Billy Wynne is an unusually unpopular Met.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Francisco may have only gotten two big-league at-bats, but he went on to manage the Mexican national team, as well as the Leon B's:
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Wow, thanks for all of the images, people. I'll have to grab a few of those.Meanwhile, in hit popularity news, this guy seems to be generating a lot of UMDB hits for a rather unpopular former Mets relief pitcher.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Beating the rap pays off, as Jeff Reardon yesterday once again became the UMDB's top lookup.
