Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Speaking of Yankee greatness, Paul Quantrill surrenders a single to Minky and a run in relief of Peavy

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Pinch-hitting for Ishii in a 6-0 game with 97 pitches logged in six innings.I say bad but I'll suspend judgement.I'll say this, if you're looking to bust the sucker into Graves-proof terriotry., use Piazza and go whole hog.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 This is a honest-to-Koosman beatdown, baby.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 ]i've caught since the 4th innning and they've simply been playing great baseball.Duan replaced Castro after tha homer and wasn't announced.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Leave Quantrill in! Leave Quantrill in!Yes!Come on, Marlon! Let's make it a baker's dozen!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Whatr a treat for all the kids at the game today.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Fantasy rule #1: Never start the opposing team's pitcher against your team.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 seawolf - what are you doing here? I thought you were at Shea.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Elster88 wrote:Fantasy rule #1: Never start the opposing team's pitcher against your team.I did the same exact thing this week. Nuts.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Shouldn't Graves be pitching here instead of Bell?At any rate, I love routs. Keep it up, boys!
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 1-2-3 innings for both Koo and Bell. Mets lead 12-0 going to the home eighth.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Elster,]That's weird. I guess I can see it only because it was my post.Actually, you can see it because your browser has the pictured cached and checks the cache first. Because we don't have the picture, tripod sends us that image. Bastards. And, I have Peavy too. I gaurantee that if I had not started him, he would be perfect to this point. So the mets and y'all have me to thank for this.*bows*
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Ah, gotcha. I'll try to find a suitable replacement picture.OE: done.OE2: That makes three of us with Peavy starting today. Justice was meted out by the Met bats.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 12-0 Mets going to the bottom of the 8th. They can almost trade grand slam homers for outs in the 9th.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Was hoping to get thru a whole series without seeing Hoffman, but this is the best time & place.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 This lead seems to be Graves-proof.Wouldn't it be great if the Mets never see .500 again this season?
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Author Posted July 21, 2005 Bell hitting. Looks like he'll finish it. I wish I was home. I always like to watch relivers hit. Between Koo and a Franco at-bat from years ago when his helmet looked to be crushing his head I've seen some funny ones.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Graves is pitching the 9th - no sense wasting a PHer - and isn't doing hisself any favors w/2 singles to the first 3 batters.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 But he gets out of it and preserves the shutout.12 - 0 is your final.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I'm at work so I'm not watching the game but through two games Ramon Hernandez is not all that impressive, small sampling I know but what do you guys think,Rick Peterson likes him from the Oakland days, who else is on the market?
duan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 fucking cool game. I arrived home from work (leaving early) to get to the game at the 4th - I missed Minky's shot, but got pretty much everything else. Reyes' steal and Ishii's score on the error was great fun, but overall they played EXTREMELY well. I'm still not convinced by Ishii, but what the hell sweeps are what we need!!!!
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Ramon Hernandez was an all star (was that last year or the year before?), and he has a reputation for handling pitchers well.
Diamond Dad Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Is this the first sweep of the season??
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Number 3. They swept the Reds at Shea and... I don't remember the other one.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 They swept Houston at Shea in April (you were there for the first of those games <g>)
