metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Bloody great, Mink seems to have found his stroke..
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Top 7:Mientkiewicz - HRIshii - GOReyes - 1B (3rd hit o the day)Cammy - K (Reyes steals 2B)Beltran - BBand now the Phils will go to the pen specifically for Cliff Floyd nemesis Rheal Cormier (Cliff's like 1-for-80 against him or something).Fran was calling Cormier "Frenchy" the other day - and while he is a Franch Canadian I have no idea if that's a real nickname or something Fran just invented.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Call me sentimental. . . but I still get pumped when piazza comes to bat with the bases juiced.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 And Cormier screws up that strategy by plunking Cliffy - 2 out, bags loaded, Piazza vs Frenchy.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 And he grounds into a fource out :(
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 'Drinkin Buddy' goes deep w/1 out.4-2
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 H Bell relieved K Ishii.Rollins stole secondJ Michaels singled to right center, J Rollins scored, J Michaels to second advancing on throw.Ring onto pitch..4-3
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 We're gonna regret not scoring any of those 'tack-on' runs. Now 4-3 as Bell allows an RBI-1BRing in to face Abreu(first they hit the Bell, now they have to put up with the Ring)
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Bell comes in, Rollins steals second and scores on Michaels' single.Ring coming in. . .
Sandgnat Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Well isn't this set up nicely for Burrell to ruin the day...
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 RingBellThe Jingle Jangle Kiddie Korps not getting it done today.Come on, 'Bert'!
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 A walk to Abreu brings Burrell up and Hernandez in.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Please, please don't make a winner out of that Met Killer Rheal Cormier.Later
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 bleh. Ring gets squeezed, if I read Gary's tone correctly, and walks Abreu after a full count. Burrell up, and Robo in to face him.Way to waste pitchers, Willie!
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 No sweat. . . hernandez Ks him (we need a smiley that is a backwards K)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Do we have enough bullpen left to get through two more innings?
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Can you get a hold if your team doesn't win?
Guest holychicken Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Cool, thanks edgy.Hernandez gives up a single to utley but gets Pratt to fly out to cameron to end the inning.9th inning, baby!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Mel Rojas II just lowered his ERA to 2.03.
Guest KC Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Looper shuts down Abreu with a comebacker to end it. 4-3 the suckass Metswho can't do shit right.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Like in May, the one game in the Phillies series the Mets lost was the one I attended....But I'm just happy they took 2 out of 3. Yea for us!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Mets win!!! This is going to be the turning point on the way to the pennant. I can feel it!!!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 ]Way to waste pitchers, Willie!Willie played the pen just fine today IMHO. The buttons didn't always work correctly, but I thought he pushed them in just the right order.* If he leaves Ishii in once he put a runner on in the 7th we'd be killing him for 'not learning his lesson' from Kaz's earlier bad innings -- so he brought in Bell to face the righty Michaels* Once Bell gave up the single we'd have thrown Willie to the wolves if he left him in to face the lefty swinging Abreu -- so he went to Ring* Then when R^3 walked Abreu, we'd have skewered him on a stick and stuck him in Dickshot's Chinese pig cooker if he left the LHP in to face Burrell -- so Willie did the logical thing and brought in the righty Roberto (excuse me, Mel II) for Pat the Bat* Then left RH in to work the 8th, and Loopy for the 9thI got no problems with any of that.
