Piazza homered (twice) in his return in 2006 and also got a curtain call after the first one. But it certainly wasn’t a tying homer in the 9th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago That's just the way I thought Benge would hit it ... but I thought it would go ten feet further.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago And now the clown car rules take over.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Benge as the ghost runner. Young - Semien - Ewing due up.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Alex Hoppe on to pitch. And, no, he has never pitched to Logan O'Hoppe ... although I think it's a crime that he hasn't. Oh, and tie game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Way too much spooging over Alonso's defensive play in the Mets booth without telling be if the runner moved over. And now the run scores and the winning run on second. THAT'S what I'm rooting for.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago First career intentional walk for A.J. Ewing!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Terrible time to swing 3-0, Christobal Morel.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Don't like that Morel swung on 3 - 0. Not in this situation anyway.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Four words Francisco: Base. Hit. Right. Field.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Morel may be playing this game on drugs.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Well this is going to be a bitch to come back from.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago A lot of support for Alonso tonight. also. A very loud “Fire Stearns” chant. I wonder what Cohen is thinking about all this.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago 8 hours ago, Edgy MD said: Yeah, but the Ochunskis are on their eighth pitcher ... And the Mets didn't hit any of the last seven. Five hits off seven pitchers through 7 innings. And in the one inning they managed to get more than one hit they figured out how to wedge a caught stealing (caught wandering is more like it) in between just to make sure no runs were scored. That was one of two outs they ran into last night.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago So many hot takes out there on Pete Alonso and the Mets.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Hey so in addition to shooting that video (which seems to have gone low-key viral) this game was distinguished by us sitting just to the left of Gary Keith & Ron who called the game from section 319. No real chance to interact with them so we let them inspired us instead
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Speaking of GKR, it says a lot about stadium design when the crew kept talking about how sucky their view is from their cramped and limited view booth compared to where they were camped out last night.

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I confess I had no expectations of Alvarez getting a hit in that last at-bat. Seems like he's really been struggling in those situations.
