Left hip flexor strain, apparently.

I mean, that's gonna happen when you let the second oldest middle infielder in MLB play 99.9% of your innings.

This could garner us a look at Ewing playing second.

Probably not, and after yesterday, I imagine that Mendoza is shy about playing anybody at secondary positions, but maybe.

Yeah, let's yeet another guy out of position for no reason, especially one of the three guys in our lineup who doesn't actively suck right now. What's the worst that could happen?

As much as he's sucked I kinda liked Semien, comes off as a pro and a not a clown.

Agreed, though notable that you got him in the past tense.

Well, it isn't really out of position, if he has played some there every season of his pro career, including this season.

I think we all know the worst that can happen, but people move.  Sometimes for good reasons.

As I wrote, I don't expect it to go down — right now, they are probably thinner in the outfield.  I just wrote that it opens up the possibility.  I'm not advocating, just looking at interesting things that can unfold.

I understand, and I know he has played some second base in the minors. And it's not like we're undefeated with him as a center fielder. But it's also not like he's blocking Rickey Henderson out there, either. Let him cook, Mendy.

Man, that sucks, he was really starting to show improvement. He went from being a .234 hitter in April to a .235 hitter in May.

I actually had hope that Semien would rebound this year, even just a little. But it wasn't to be, as he's not even playing up to 2025's numbers, which were pretty bad. Even last year, he had over 3 WAR; this year, he's in the negatives.

There's something in the water with the Mets and its effecting the whole team. I wonder if its a toxic clubhouse or what.

Rotowire says he's only expected to be out a short while, so this might be one of those trips to the "injured list" that exist more to give the player time to rest and regroup.
