I'm pretty excited about this series. I think this is when the Mets put the hammer down on these fuckers.

The #1, 2, 3, & 5 WAR guys for the Reds this season are all starting pitchers (w/the oft-heralded Elly De La Cruz at #4) and we're going to see three of them this weekend.

- lefty Andrew Abbott will go tonight. He held us to two runs over six IP, in a game the Mets eventually won 3-2, during the series at Citi

- 26 year old/RH Hunter Greene, the 2nd overall/2017 draft pick, will go Sunday. His career got off to a delayed start after missing all of '20 & '21 with TJS, but he hit his stride starting last year and since the beginning of the 2024 season has a sub-3.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over 41 starts.

- Saturday's starter Brady Singer is no slouch either.

We saw only Abbott during the July series at CF

So while GAB may be a hitting friendly park, ya still gotta hit to take advantage of that.

Overall the Reds are slightly below the Mets, and a bit above NL lg average, in both RA/G & RS/G

I feel like it is only a matter of time before the preferable alignment is McNeil at second and Acoonie in center, but he certainly has looked good at second to me.

Their Marte lost 80 games to a ped suspension

The Reds have gotten good production from Noelvi Marte and Miguel Andujar which surprises me anyway

Catcher Tyler Stephenson is back and he has damaged the Mets before

Can't call it a bad inning when you score three despite a stolen 3R-HR.

So coulda been better, but coulda been worse too: two very soft RBI hits

The way Alvarez is placing his throwing hand behind his back to protect it is the way Johnny Bench caught. It was the way I was taught to catch. I don't know why catchers got away from it, particularly when there are no runners on base.
