Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 After two days of beating the Giants' better starting pitchers, the Mets have perhaps their top guy on the mound against what is expected to be a panoply of Giants arms. While that is an advantage, it naturally guarantees nothing. In fact, the scheduled starter/opener, Matt Gage has yet to give up a run in 9 2/3 innings this season with the Giants and Tigers. Many will rise, many will fall. Most will shudder. But in the end, one will stand.[FIMG=560]https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/AA1IeyvO.img?w=4207&h=2805&m=4&q=75[/FIMG]

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Nice to see the ESPN booth praising Alonso's defenseSenga 4 innings 72 pitches is my prediction Mets should score plenty tonight

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 They just said the Astros have checked in with Mets looking at our young infielders It would be ironic if this is why Vientos is sitting
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Dom Smith with a perfect hit and run and equally good job by Senga getting out of a jam
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 I saw a story that the White Sox wanted Vientos in a deal for Luis Robert. I don't know if that's a good deal, though Robert has two club option years after this.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Not only are the 1-2-3-4 hitters 0-fer-12 tonight but there hasn't been a single decent piece of contact among them: 8 Ground Outs, 3 Ks, 1 Foul Out.Not a single ball out of the infield though at least one of the GPs scored a run (tho another led to an out at home so maybe those cancel each other out).
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Macurico gets a splash homer to tie the game!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Still too early to know how consistent Mauricio is going to be with the bat ... but he is a dangerous hitter from the left side.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 27, 2025 Author Posted July 27, 2025 Looks like one batter too many for Randy Rodriguez also.
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2025 Posted July 27, 2025 Soto keeps the ball dry, but over the fence to go ahead!
