The Mets have had two six-game win streaks this season, and one seven. They are currently sitting on five, and they are not here to match their best showing, but exceed it.



The Giants, as noted in yesterday's IGT, can pitch with anybody, but yesterday, they sent one of their best pitchers after the Mets, and the Mets sent him back early. Today, though, we see their very best as Robbie Ray matches up with his fellow NL All-Star lefthander David Peterson.



Tension will mount. Drama will build. Anxiety will spike so high that we will need aviation lights attached to it in order to protect air traffic.

I like how you frequently do play-by-play instead of commentary. It isn't necessary for those following the game in real time, but it is really helpful when reading threads in posterity.

That was also the day that Gary Carter, apparently, singlehandedly won four World Series titles for the New York Mets. And cured cancer, diabetes and asthma. And then ran into a burning building to save three babies and two kittens from the inferno.

Because the big story of the Mets 1985 for all mankind to remember till the end of time is not Dwight Fucking Gooden, but Gary Carter's opening day home run, without which, the Mets would have never won another game for the rest of their existence.

Probably because for several years, I seldom could actually see the games, so I lived vicariously through the IGT's. I often wasn't sure what was going on. Now that I watch a significant number of games, it is nice to be able to report on what is going on.

I was at the Rockies-Orioles game tonight. Cedric Mullins, frequently mentioned as a potential Mets target, had a great diving catch and then a three-run homer. Then he got pulled from the game. I was hoping it was because he was traded to the Mets. But it probably had to do with the Orioles winning 15-0.



Rockies are brutal. Game ended 18-0 with two hits.

Tyrone up with two on and two out and a chance to break the game open is a tough choice. You need his glove in a 2-1 game, but you need somebody to make it more than 2-1.
