Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Yanx will throw ex-NYM Marcus Stroman who will be throwing his fifth start of the season and only his second since early April. I think he was out with strained neck tattoos.Mets will be throwing whoever they pick up off the streets on their way to the park. Also, almost certainly no Stanek or Diaz today as both are coming off back-to-back outings.3:10 start on a day where anniversary #250 is certainly getting a whole lot less hype than did #200
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Both teams scuffling, anything could happen LGM
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Getting less hype because it's anniversary #249.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Stroman can be distracted and get off his game. If someone makes an error behind him, or he doesn't get a call from the umpire, he can lose focus and give up meatballs. We saw this many times when he was with the Mets.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Would be a great day for a Vientos breakout. I feel like his falloff, more than any of the others, has killed this offense.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 The best 4th of July game I ever attended was when Dave Righetti no-hit the SAWKS at YS1. They made a big hoopla that it was George Steinbrenner's birthday, with a guy parachuting into the stadium and a trained Eagle flying around.Let's make this one even better. Yahoo Sports is saying that Justin Hagenman will be bringing his 1.50 ERA to the mound for the good guys.LGM!!Later
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 No opener today for the Mets. It'll be Justin Hagenman from the jump, the team announced.DiComo

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 A 3:10 start on a Friday, holiday associated with evening fireworks seems a bit goofy to me. Not that I mind it, as we're attending the Syracuse Mets at 6:30 PM today, which means Mets game, followed by Mets game
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Nimmo 7 Lindor 6Soto 9 Alonso 3 McNeil 4 Torrens 2 Baty 5 Mauricio DHTaylor 8 Hagenman 1This is a CPF holiday friends of the friendless event
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Funny, for a week or so in my mind this was a road game.See other comments in other threads...
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Id like the hats better without the white piping on the brim
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Sucks already , Judge follows with a bomb
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 The Justin Hagenman Experience is not off to a good start.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Mauricio seems to get in most dugout photos
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Estabrook is giving Stro several inches off the outside corner against righties.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 There's no rally Brett Baty can't kill.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Everything in the air against Hagenman, which isn't a good recipe for success. (OE) Well, strikeouts help.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Hagenmen is taking advantage of that generous outside corner also, it seems.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 Strike 3 to Judge was NOT strike 3.
