Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 The guy with the .500 OPS. Awful baseball.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Tie game and now the GOOD hitters are coming up.Nick Allen, 3-3 on the night, is a .220 hitter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 What a gift from the first-base umpie!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 The Mets have issued plenty of walks all season long.It just took this long to catch up with them. That hook of Frankie hurts so much.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Eleventh batter of the inning. Let's start him off with a ball.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Five runs, Three hits (2 out of the infield), 52 pitches (essentially 3-1/2 innings worth)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 btw, the next run we score off the Braves bullpen this year will be our first.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Watch two strikes. Flail at a pitch in the dirt.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Top-6: They start four pitch walkB-6: We start three pitch K
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 After a half season of games, this team's history suggests they won't come back in this game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Richard Lovelady — the opposite of scary.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Mendoza said when the Mets fall behind they start chasing. No fight or grit to this team at all.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 That was strike three on Baty, but I like seeing him get a little lit up.

Swinging at ball 4 in the dirt when all you're trying to do is get on base is exactly the type of shit approach that this team has had all year long.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Who cares about rehab assignment results anyway?Frankie Montas was everything the Mets could have hoped for tonight—and more.Gelbs can be very annoying, five innings , relax
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Author Posted June 25, 2025 Obviously a rough time at the park with the heat and all the ducking. Booed on 4 or 5 separate occasions.I'm maddest at Mendy. Going into the prevent defense in the 6th inning sent a message that he believed the team wouldn't score anymore and it became a game of trying not to lose. That's loser baseball.Put Lindor on the DL already, he's worthless since the hbp.All that said had a good time suffering with our regular seat neighbors-- and 2 girls who sung along with all the music beautifully.Afterward a packed and sweaty 7 Super Express arrived at 74th Street (where I transfer) on the wrong track and sat there for 10 minutes while the local passed it by. Deboarded at 61st and caught a local 7 back to 74th only to find the R trains were "delayed" so took an E to Queens Plaza and walked home. If I make all the transfers smoothly it's less than 20 minutes. This one took about 90 minutes.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 Damn, that makes it suck even more
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 I wasn't in love with Frankie, but now I'm kinda' like.Later
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2025 Posted June 25, 2025 On a night so hot, I'm surprised the trains work at all. Mine were tetchy, but eventually got me https://www.faithandfearinflushing.com/2025/06/25/good-hang-with-frankie-montas/the glimpse of Dicky Lovelady I didn't know I'd been needing.
