His play-by-play remains excellent but I sense that Howie is leaning too much into main character syndrome and thinking people want as much of his curmudgeon shtick as he'll give them.

In fairness it was more pronounced a year or two ago, when Wayne Randazzo was still there. Wayne was very anti-Manfred man and Howie was very pro.
