Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Magic number down to 91.Team ERA still below 3, at 2.89.Team BA nearly at .250, at .249. The Mets can go 47-48 from here on out and still be a 90-win team. Also I'm starting to feel positive about Jeff McNeil again. The magic of AI says the Mets are likely to clinch the division between August 1 and September 21; if one wishes to tighten that up a bit, the prediction becomes somewhere between August 10 and September 20.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 It's that lineup with Baty at second and Mauricio at third, and Nimmo in left and McNittens in center. It's counter-intuitive, but I suppose Mendoza has his reasons. Also, the Mets lead the Nats 4–2 in the all-important category of guys in the lineup whose name ends in O.

[TH][/TH][TH][FIMG=250]https://cdn.freebiesupply.com/images/large/2x/washington-nationals-logo-transparent.png[/FIMG][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][FIMG=100]https://www.amny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Ed-Kranepool-Patch.png?resize=50[/FIMG][FIMG=250]https://cdn.freebiesupply.com/images/large/2x/new-york-mets-logo-transparent.png[/FIMG][/TH][TH][/TH]

[TH]#[/TH][TH]Player[/TH][TH]Pos.[/TH][TH]#[/TH][TH]Player[/TH][TH]Pos.[/TH]

=#14225A]1=#AB0003]CJ Abrams (L)=#14225A]ss=#FF5910]1=#002D72]Francisco Lindor (S)=#FF5910]ss

=#14225A]2=#AB0003]Amed Rosario (R)=#14225A]3b=#FF5910]2=#002D72]Brandon Nimmo (L)=#FF5910]lf

=#14225A]3=#AB0003]James Wood (L)=#14225A]lf=#FF5910]3=#002D72]Juan Soto (L)=#FF5910]rf

=#14225A]4=#AB0003]Andrés Chaparro (R)=#14225A]dh=#FF5910]4=#002D72]Pete Alonso (R)=#FF5910]1b

=#14225A]5=#AB0003]Nathaniel Lowe (L)=#14225A]1b=#FF5910]5=#002D72]Jeff McNeil (L)=#FF5910]cf

=#14225A]6=#AB0003]Alex Call (R)=#14225A]rf=#FF5910]6=#002D72]Jared Young (L)=#FF5910]dh

=#14225A]7=#AB0003]Riley Adams (R)=#14225A]cf=#FF5910]7=#002D72]Luis Torrens (R)=#FF5910]c

=#14225A]8=#AB0003]Luis García, Jr. (L)=#14225A]2b=#FF5910]8=#002D72]Brett Baty (L)=#FF5910]2b

=#14225A]9=#AB0003]Jacob Young (R)=#14225A]cf=#FF5910]9=#002D72]Ronny Mauricio (S)=#FF5910]3b

[TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH]

=#14225A]=#AB0003]Jake Irvin (R)=#14225A]sp=#FF5910]=#002D72]David Peterson (L)=#FF5910]sp

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 An Amed Rosario sighting! He was gonna be the next big thing; never happened. Fangraphs says he's made $19,774.440 in his baseball career though, which is about $19,774,440 more than any of us, so.... Advantage Amed.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Two starts in a row for Torrens. Is he the guy now, or did Alvarez hurt something?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Mets trying to get to 20 G over .500 for the season, a mark they never reached at all last year (hit +17 several times during September but never higher)
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Author Posted June 11, 2025 They'll be over more than 20 at seasons end I'm guessing

He pitches more "to contact". This could be interesting.Later
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 And to think I was prepared to throw in the towel on Alonso in the early part of 2024.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Peterson looking like a machine out there tonight.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 No posts for 30 min? CPF slumping. Also. Peterson is indeed an ace.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Dinner conflicts with my posting. Stupid FDA nutritional requirements.Nimmo suddenly has a dozen homers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Lookie at Peterson, pitching into the eighth.Giving up a run, apparently, but he only has 6 1/3 eighth innings in his career.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 That was quite something for Peterson.I'm so happy I could pee!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Peterson has pitched the whole game! He has given up no runs!Is there a statistical term for either of those accomplishments?
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 I think that qualifies as a quality start
