Game two of this three game set features two very large RH'ers as Tylor Megill take the mound against Jonathan Cannon

Cannon (6' 6" / 225) was a 2022 3rd round pick out of U Georgia. He made 21 starts as a rookie last year and this will be his 11th game / 9th start this season.

Currently 2-5, 3.76 ERA / 1.31 WHIP and has so far shown a somewhat low K-rate (6.7/9), for this era anyway.

And now you know as much about him as I do, but about 90% of this White Sox roster is anonymous to me so that's no surprise.

The offense has got to be better tonight (is does, doesn't it?) but one could say that for both sides who combined for a grand total of 3 runs on 11 hits (8 of them singles) and went a collective 1/18 w/RiSP and even that hit didn't knock in anyone as the runs came in via a Sac fly, a Sac Fly, and a Sac Fly. Fortunately two of those were ours.

That the NYM staff got away with walking seven last night is a tribute to the suckitide of the Chicago offense but they gotta find a way to cut that shit out.

Someone needs to call Elias and find out what the highest-scoring game is where all the runs scored on sacrifice flies.

It is like a 6-3 football game where all the points were scored on field goals that weren't necessarily the result of successful drives, but the modest cash-in from being lucky enough to get the ball in good field position.

The (Undefeated) Tuesday Night Mets Club will be at this one, being it a Tuesday night game

How many games has the TNMC attended, and to what do you attribute this good fortune? Is it simply your presence or are there other factors involved? Specific articles of clothing worn for instance?

Inquiring minds want to know.

The Mets are 4-4 on Tuesdays-- 4-0 at home and 0-4 on the road.

The TNMC has beaten the Phillies 5-1, the DBacks 8-3 and the Pirates 2-1 (we skipped the early season win over Miami). The key to victory in all games has been scoring more runs than the other teams did.

Or turnovers I guess

C'mon, Mets.

These are the freakin' WHITE SOX!

Don't make this hard.

Beating them should be as easy as stopping an F-18 from rolling off the deck of an aircraft carrier.

You got this.

They're not listening to me.

No excuse there for neither runner to see the ump's call - particularly Soto and the 1st base coach who were right in the neighborhood.

We'll need all we can get offensively because McGill sucks.

The Alvarez HBP looked exactly how Bryce Harper's did in the Braves/Philly game just a short time ago ... but Harper's seemed much more painful.

Geez, has Francisco Alvarez peaked? He really doesn't do anything terribly well

It'll never happen but Hayden Senger might be the better backup to Torrens

How can that not be a hit for Soto?

- Ventura got credit for a single on his GSS

- Tim McCarver, who famously hit a Bicentennial Day Grand Slam then somehow managed to pass Garry Maddox on the base-path between 1st and 2nd, got credit for a 3 RBI single.

Soto reached 1st safely and then was called out for passing Nimmo between 1st & 2nd.

I guess the fact that Nimmo wound up back on 1st base is what negates the hit but that seems like a non-sensical exception.
