Double Newsday covers certainly looks like The America East Conference is suddenly ascendant come tourney time, while The Big East and The Pac 10 players are back on campus, going to classes, wondering what happened.

I went with SUPERMANEA also, but what were they thinking with that color?

"Hey, we're running the headline across his chest. That's gonna create a white-on-white issue."

"Well, we can increase the drop-shadow, that should distinguish the letters enough."

"No, look. The letters are still kind of disappearing in there."

"We can maybe set SUPERMAN in a solid color?"

"Yeah, but we already have AEA in orange. Oh ...hey, that means we can do SUPERMAN in royal

blue! That way, we get both Mets colors in there, and SUPERMAN is in Superman's primary color!"

"Or ... and hear me out ... we can do SUPERMAN in this Caucasian fleshtone color I've been

looking to deploy. Here ... waddaya think of THAT?!"

"I think it's soft, gooey, fleshy, and offputting. It's ... porny ... in a bad way ... and it's gross."

    "EXACTLY! Print it!"

Man. This is like Norfolk State vs. Valparaiso in the NCAA final.

Well said (as was Edgy's critique of the coloring on SUPERMANAEA). My protest vote is for SUPERMANAEA because the other "defeated" the best cover since Albert Almora's 2021 cover.

[bIGPURPLE]OMG[/bIGPURPLE] symbolized the spirit of the 2024 Mets.

It has to be immortalized in Stockholm.

I'm somewhat responsible for the tie. I had originally voted for SUPERMANEA but I changed my vote. If this weren't the final I wouldn't have done so as SUPERMANAEA is the better cover but what goes to Stockholm should be a cover that at least in some way epitomizes the season. Decades from now when people are walking through the Hall of Fame in Sweden and see SUPERMANAEA, they would think of 2024: "I guess this pitcher epitomizes that long-ago season" rather than "what's the deal with the MG after Alonso's name -- let me look into that year."

I disagree with your choice of cover but absolutely agree with your logic about the winner epitomizing the season. That's why I had such an issue with the Seaver cover winning a few years ago. It had nothing to do with that year's team.

2020 was a strange year. Because of the shortened season, there were very few covers that represented game action that emerged from the first round.

Still looking for that tie-breaker vote! Only 14 people have voted so far, and previous polls have had as many as 18 votes, so there are some recent voters who haven't chimed in yet on this one.

I switched my vote. The arguments above about epitomizing the season swayed me for this combination. It wouldn't have changed my mind about "HAIR FORCE WON" or "NO SLEEP TILL THE BRONX" or "NO MERCY!" or "PICCADILLY CIRCUS" or any of the others that are better than these two.
