Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 ALONSOMG! could have worked without the orange plastic sign. I think Newsday overplayed their hand and detracted from the subhed and photo -- it's not clear what even happened if you didn't alreday know and the goal of the tabloid is to attract the pipe-smoking dad at the train station to choose their paper that day.If I'm dad, Luis Arm Strong gives me a chuckle, the picture is great. Plus it captures a rare victory in the city connects
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 The slightly lower angle and Severino's head tipped back — along with the remaining daylight around him — allow the triumph in the eyes to get into the moment, which is all the difference for me.Pete's got his head down as he transitions from his YEAH! face into his don't upstage the pitcher trot. There's a shadow from his brim over his eyes and another shadow around his head. A moment or two earlier, and the photographer might have gotten one of those lit-up-face-tilted-upward-in-the-anticipation-of-joy shots that you want to get from a heroic, late-inning, late-season/post-season homer.I'm on Team Sevvy.
