He was a non-appearing of the World Series roster, right?

That's right. Also, one of only three lefty pitchers to start games for the '69 Mets, the others being Jerry Koosman and ____________________.

I'm missing a whole word and possibly two in that post. How embarrassing.

I'll guess that the answer to the trivia question is Al Jackson.

I'm sorry. Jackson was one off three lefty pitchers on the '69 squad who didn't start a game.

Then it's gotta be McGraw, which I likely should've guessed outright.

It's gotta be Tug because it is Tug! Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!

Did you know that Choo Choo Coleman led all Tidewater Mets catchers in at-bats in 1969? The 1969 Mets might've been one injury away from reviving Casey's ol' Jackson-Coleman battery.

Here's the full version of the 1969 Mets singing "You Gotta Have Heart" on the Ed Sullivan show. The prankster pinching Jack DiLauro's ear and wiping Bobby Pfeil's mouth at about the 1:53 mark is none other than Tom Seaver. At the end of the performance, DiLauro is pulled out of the chorus to show America his Ed Sullivan imitation.

Also, it's great that despite DiLauro not getting to appear in the series, he got the spotlight moment with Sully.

I had seen the clip 100 times but never with the DiLauro bit included. Either that, or I had always clicked out at the end of the song.

Sullivan mentioned that Gilbert wasn't there, but I noticed that coaches Lawrence and Edward were also absent.

Also missing from the post-season roster -- Cleon Jones. Bobby Pfeil was the only Met in the chorus not on the '69 post-season roster.
