That's my guess, anyhow.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 That is the Edwin Diaz we need. I like him throwing strikes and relying more on the fastball. Awesome win.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Well, we hit ... A LOT!Got very good starting pitchingBut we did leave a lot of meat on the bone as CF said- we hit into multiple GiDPs - the Phils played great defense and saved multiple runs- the Phils scored almost all their runs with two outsAnd yet we won going away, so, Nice win.The only caveat is that we had a nice win in the first game of the series in CBP and wound up losing the series.Need to show up at least as sharp tomorrow.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Can't sweep if you don't win the first one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 It's certainly better to beat them with the Phils phiring on most of their cylinders, rather than them falling behind, shrugging it off, and laying down.No easy games are going to come in October.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 Yankees lose too, so if you need your happiness tripled, you got it.

Do we prefer it happen in a 5 game division series or 7 game LCS?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 I don't see any easy road ahead, so I think it's just win as much as you can and let the chips fall where they may.Acuña certainly seems to have a thing about tacking on for double-digit runs. He's knocked in the 10th run three straight games now — twice with homers and once with a triple. I'm curious whether the team will give him any outfield appearances if and when Lindor returns.

I think any outfield time would only come as a last-man-on-the-bench-in-extras scenario.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Got around to watching this one. Danny Young is getting olde. He's one of those Quadruple-A guys you ride until he sucks...well, now he sucks. It was a good run.Otherwise, a good game. Severino is excelente.
