MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Has he been to Spring Training with the O's, or will he have to spend some time getting ready?Later
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Author Posted April 3, 2024 He was with Baltimore until March 24th so it doesn't look like he will have to go to the minor for too long, if at all.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 A special welcome from Claudell Washington, Miguel Cairo, and both Hector and José Santiago.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Erstwhile Met-killer, since solved. Scouting report pegs him as “available”.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Feels poor to get so much trash from the Brewers
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Julio is considered "stretched out" and will slot in as a starter from the get go
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Worth is for the thread title alone
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 He is replacement level rather than disaster level. Whatever.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 ESPN reports that the contract is for $2.5 million guaranteed, with the ability to earn another $450,000 in performance bonuses. This is really a low-risk move that could potentially be a significant help.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 I don't want to be a kook, but I kind of have more confidence in Teheran at this stage of his career than I have right now in Severino. At any rate, it'll be a rare occasion for the Mets to have two Colombians in their rotation.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Both had some good years followed by a big fall. Teheran's older so he's had more of both. And while Severino obviously wasn't good in start #1 I thought he was also a bit unlucky: several plays Not made (one changed to an error days later) plus a bunch of hits that were finding more holes than gloves.Don't really know what to expect from either at this point.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Julio has been added to the roster (at Michael Tonkin's expense). Will wear 49.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2024 Posted April 5, 2024 Last I looked, the planned starters in Cincinnati were Quintana, Severino, and Manaea. Unless that's changed, I'm surprised they dropped a reliever prior to Monday, which would be the earliest we'd expect to see Teheran.
