I love the color saturations the News is using, but both of these have a muddled message built around a not-particularly-active action photo. The message of the second cover is more than muddled of course, as it actually turned out to be fake news.



I went with the first cover as the second one features a dude not in a Met uniform who would ultimately never put one on.

By the way, I'm a fan of teams outfitting their batting helmets with raised insigniae, like the Twins helmet above, and I'm even a bigger fan of teams like the Cubs using sewn insigniae adhered to the helmet.



The helmet is a projection of the cap, and I celebrate any smart and tasteful way a team can find to better honor the design of the cap in the design of the helmet.

I went with COOKIE. It's a solid enough cover. Clean action shot, uncluttered by subheadlines or other images. And Cookie's throwing a screwball or some shit.



REGIFTED is gonna get bounced from this competition eventually. Might as well be now.
