Huzzah to Carlos Correa's Minnesota Twins for finally winning one of these games!

In the other series, the Rays drew 19,704 to the 4-0 blanking the Rangers handed them, perhaps indicating prescience on the part of Rays area throughout the Bay Area.

According to The Athletic:

Tampa Bay hosted the Rangers for Game 1 of the American League Wild Card Series on Tuesday, and a paltry 19,704 showed up to Tropicana Field, marking the smallest playoff baseball crowd in a non-COVID year since Game 7 of the 1919 World Series. In that game over a century ago, the White Sox and Reds drew just 13,923 fans.

Maybe the fans in Florida heard they were giving out books and stayed away.

I had this one on in the background today, weird ass game. Jays didn't score anyway, but the way they handled their starter Berrios was super weird. He seemed like he was cruising (3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K) going into the 4th. He walks the leadoff guy in the top of 4 and they yank him at 47 pitches before he would face some lefties, and the lefty reliever promptly loads the bases and gives up the 2 runs that would prove to win it.

Michael Kay and A-Rod on the call (rough listening) were both convinced it was pre-planned to get to that point and pull him. Who knows, but it didn't work, whatever the plan was.
