Peterson has a 2.41 ERA over his last 33.2 innings, dating back to June 27. He just needs to start going deeper into games. Hopefully he'll be able to go five innings or more tonight.

Petey has been decent of late

His career has had many stops and starts, both good and not so good that I am worn down

Having said that, knock em down kid!

Ozzie Albies in newly on the IL so I see they called up Vaughn Grissom who played part of last season and hit .400 for a while following his call-up.

They've also been using trade deadline pickup Nicky Lopez who was OPS'ing 600 (both this season and for his career) as a KCR but over 1000 during his short stint w/ATL

Those young Braves hitters keep coming and coming, like Nick Cannon.

Facing off against that Winans guy

Baseball reference says he was originally signed by the Mets, then acquired by Atlanta in a "conditional deal". I had read elsewhere that it was a Rule V deal. I guess that means the same thing, since Rule V deals are conditional - you can offer them back to the original team if you don't like what you got. But Rule V deals have been around for years. I had never noticed how BR.com words them.

WAR is a calculation of Wins Above Replacement, but I'm liking what I see out of the "replacements".

Not to be a Debbie Downer here, but in the early June series in Atlanta the Mets were up by:

* 3 runs in the 6th inning of Game 1 ... and lost

* 3 runs in the 5th inning of G2 ... and lost

* 3 runs in the 3rd inning and later 4 runs in the 6th inning of G3 ... and lost

That was the kiss of doom

3.07 Pitcher's Glove

(a) The pitcher's glove may not, exclusive of piping, be white, gray, nor, in the judgment of an umpire, distracting in any manner. No fielder, regardless of position, may use a fielding glove that falls within a PANTONE® color set lighter than the current 14-series.

(B) No pitcher shall attach to his glove any foreign material of a color different from the glove.

(c) The umpire-in-chief shall cause a glove that violates Rules 3.07(a) or (B) (Rules 1.15(a) or 1.15(B)) to be removed from the game, either on his own initiative, at the recommendation of another umpire or upon complaint of the opposing manager that the umpire-in-chief agrees has merit.

Let's make that move, Buck.

When Vogelbach is on 2nd base is he, like Schroedinger's cat, half in (only in the case of 3Bs or HRs) and half not in (1Bs & 2Bs) scoring position?

Oh, man, he's getting yanked a run short of being the pitcher of record, after giving up a walk that was a squeezy walk.
