Sitting in the middle of Citified

Waiting for Carrasco to begin

Lost between McNeil and Lindor

Our second half SHaMs

And we're not where we started

Here we go no Max again

Day after day and I get up and say

Why trade all our pitchers away

Where are all the players going

Texas and Houston have two of them

Traded around til we reach the end

One game leading up into another

Beat the Pirates and do it again

The Pirates, btw, played the Braves in the series just before ours, but instead of getting shut out twice and having Single A teams look at our

performance and say, 'Man, those guys really suck', Pitt played three close games and won two of them; had a +1 run differential which rates

just a slight bit better than our -34

Forget a quality start.

Can Cookie pitch just one freaking clean inning?

Please?

Carrasco is going to be over 100 pitches by the 4th inning at this rate.

If I had his stuff, I wouldn't want to throw it over the plate, either.

One of the unlikeliest home runs of the 2023 season just hit by Arauz. Wow!

Even that seemed like an anomaly as he had just 5 in 197 big league ABs before this game and has slugged just .366 in his minor league career.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Lindor is the Mets' first 20-20 guy since Carlos Beltran in 2008, when he had 27 dingers and 25 stolen bases.

Wasn't Sam Coonrod part of a tag team with Haystacks Calhoun?

It might have been Haystacks Muldoon.

I may be conflating professional wrestlers with L'il Abner characters. I was never an expert on either.

You're not. Both of them were real wrestlers. I saw them on tv way back when.
