ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Newly promoted DJ Stewart is an additional option at lefty DH
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 It's nice to see the other manager going to his bullpen too early — especially in game one.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 Raley makes it to the bag just in time
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2023 Author Posted July 4, 2023 DJ Stewart gets a crack with the bases loaded
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 I am a DJ, I am what I play!I've got believers ... believing in me!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Walker hasn't turned on him yet, but Otto's stuff is looking kinda lifeless today.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 But he seems to be finding a finishing pitch, striking out his first two batters.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 That's it. Tack on. Burn through that pen in game one.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 Oh, Smitty, act like you've been there before.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 I may have missed something, but Carroll has looked great every time up.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 4, 2023 Posted July 4, 2023 A bit of a casual flip there, Francisco.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Four runs from the 7th inning on in Tuesday's game following three 7th inning or later runs on Sunday (after SFG had put up three in the top half of the 7th).That's what was missing the entire month of June.Aside from scoring the ghost runner in the 10th to beat the Yanx, the Mets didn't score a meaningful run past the 6th inning during the entire Joon Swoon.(getting five in the 9th vs Pitt when down 14-2, or five in the 9th vs HOU when already up 6-1, doesn't qualify as 'meaningful ')
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Spent all day thinking this was a 7:10 PM EDT start and turned on the TV at that time to find I had missed the whole game. Just watched the condensed 9 min version on the official Mets site just now (I do love this as my catch up method when I miss the game). What a blast by Francisco Alvarez, wow.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I think that this was my favorite game of the year. I only saw the 9th inning, though. First I went to the ESPN "scores" app to see what I missed and saw that Senga pitched a goddamn gem. Then came the heroics with the Mets down to their last strike. That Alvarez is a beast -- he's strong. I wonder who's stronger: him or Alonso?
