Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I have no problem with Pete sneaking the occasional SB, but he's got to be the worst slider in OB (organized baseball for you non-BALL FOUR readers).I fear he's going to fuck up his shoulder, hand, wrist, or face each time he goes into head-first mode.

He wrecks.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I realize that Yellich isn't having one of his better years, but it was a pleasure watching how Peterson was able to deal with him so breezily.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 He polar plops. If I had his ear, I'd suggest he slide differently.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Jeff Brigham is to baseball what Michael Jordan is to baseball

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Five run lead, three outs to get. We've got at least a 37% chance of winning this one!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Monasterio should play for the Padres.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Despite some miserly work by the ump, Leone is pitching like a dude.

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I almost forgot how to get to the library. Finally some books!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I was on Twitter today trying to find out who was going down to make room for Peterson. It gook a while to get to what turned out to be (the obvious choice) Vinny Nittoli, but what I found there was massive hatefest for Peterson, with some extra hate left over for Vogelbach.I'd like to go back and respond to each of those perfidious tweeters, but I totally won't.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 I have no patience for Twitter, Mets-wise.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Nor do I, indeed.I feel like three of the four homers the Mets hit tonight were caught by the same fan on the Party Deck.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Once a week or so the Mets win and things are great. Too bad it's not a more regular thing. Maybe it'll start being one. Any day now.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 We took this in from Section 515, right behind home plate and home to a collection of Met regulars who do a bunch of cheers that we've heard many times in nearby sections. Last night we were in the same row as them. I think the lead guy's name is Mike, he leads the Heeeeeee... struck him out cheer and the "J-E-F-F Jeff Jeff Jeff!" cheer. Goofy old guys at Mets games. He told us it was his 4,000th baseball game (including away games, which would be ~50 years of 81 games a year. He apparently hasn't missed a Citifield game yet.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Had a very consistent LET'S GO METS! guy behind me in 313, very loud, which is to say I wished he'd quit inadvertently shouting in my ear, but damn if his support for individual Mets and the Mets as a whole wasn't sincere. I give him a spiritual Schaefer half-point (from a few rows away).
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2023 Author Posted June 28, 2023 White bearded gentleman looks familiar, I'm certain we've chatted.
