And that's not going to pass for a rally.

This guy was signed at 21. Way to find a diamond in the rough, Astros.

Damnit, Gary just gave the answer but I wasn't really listening

I misheard it originally, it WAS three others that did all 30 teams within their first 100 HRs

Jose Guillen, Orlando Hudson, JD Drew

Not surprising that all are from the IL play era

That 4th Houston run sukked.

Cheap hit, then with all those opportunities to run he doesn't do it until a the batter hits a grounder so no force or DP. He then comes in on another cheap hit.

That run looking large at the moment.

Alonso shows why you take when down in the ninth.

Because the pitcher didn't throw a single strike. Alonso took four balls. Taking a pitch that isn't in the strike zone is an extremely sound strategy. It isn't even remotely like what you preach every single game --- deciding and then committing to taking a pitch before that pitch is even thrown -- even if that pitch turns out to be a 70MPH meatball right down the middle of the plate. You know how fucked batters are when they're behind in the count. Not everybody's Keith Hernandez. Jesus Christ with the automatic taking of the first pitch. The best hitters in baseball are gonna make an out 60 or 70 percent of the time on every at bat, even with a clean count. They don't need to be hitting behind in the count on top of that. The pitcher has the advantage on every single at bat. If a batter's gonna decide to take a pitch before it's even thrown, it should be on a batter's count, like 3-0 or 3-1 --- not on the first pitch.
