Chris Bassitt (5-4, 3.80) goes against Verlander (2-2, 4.80) tonight as the Blue Jays come to town.

They are said to have a fearsome offense but aren't doing any better than the Mets this year. In fact both clubs are 30-27.

Sounds like Jeff McNeil. What's happening with him this season? He's having a decent season but it's all singles. This year, he's a light hitting singles hitter with no kind of power and with a decent command of the strike zone. He's kinda killing the Mets from the #3 hole.

Citi Field is always a great place to bring families, as the Mets bid a fond farewell to the children of Roger Clemens and Mark Guthrie, and welcome the children of Vladdy Guerrero, Dante Bichette, Gary Varsho, and Craig Biggio, as well as the greatnephew of Al Luplow.

As I recall it McNeil was red hot until getting moved up to No. 3. That was about Marte turning into a singles hitter.

I was thinking Baty is our No. 3 guy, at least will be.

I guess you could make a case for removing McNeil from the three hole. Maybe he could use some time in the two hole

Alejandro Kirk, crouching into his batting stance, is lower than some catchers are when they squat.

He's listed at 5'8". He's got to be smaller than that, right?
