Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Just sprinkly around DC right now, so hoping for the best. And hoping the Mets get more than a sprinkling of runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Most interesting is the flipping of Jeff McNeil and Delroy Lindor, and the 2023 debut of Michael Perez, but I like Vogelbach fifth. I prefer rookies just hitting, without increasing the likelihood of game-tilting situations falling into their laps.Strange that MLB.tv gave me the SNY feed last night. They've always treated games against the Nats as in my "area." I hope this is an indication that I'll get Mets/Nats games from now on.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 I can understand wanting to put as many lefty hitters in the lineup as possible, but if I were manager I'd only substitute Perez for Alvarez at gunpoint.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Well, it's generally an accepted reality that catchers cannot play as often as other players.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 My initial reaction was who the hell is Perez?

But I guess you can't play him every single day. Edited May 13, 2023 by Guest
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Conditions have deteriorated into a steady windy rain. Ick.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Yeah. Looks like they're getting some spray. We've had rain most all of the day here in Baltimore.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Author Posted May 13, 2023 2-0 Washington in the first. Again
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 [CROSSOUT]Three[/CROSSOUT] Four batters in, and the hole is happening again.Keith is suddenly pronouncing Perez with the R mostly sounded as a D, which is more consistent with most Spanish-speaking Latin-American countries.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Author Posted May 13, 2023 Jeremy Hefner is having a hellish season
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Lucchesi seemed to have his grip on about 45% of the pitches that inning, as opposed to 30–35% in the first inning.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 They're using a years' worth of Diamond Dry already.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Ninety-nine percent of MLB players historically score from first on that double.Daniel Vogelbach, you crazy one-percenter.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 If not for this sudden rain delay, they woulda hadda bring out an oxygen tank for Vogelbach, who went first to third.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Rain is lightening somewhat, but looks like there's heavier stuff on the way.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 Anyone in radio or twitter-land have an update on possible re-start time?
