G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Megill against Gomber, Mets in favor of mental health.FLUSHING, N.Y., May 4, 2023 – In an effort to help end the stigma, the New York Mets will host Mental Health Awareness Day presented by Carelon at Citi Field Saturday, May 6 when they take on the Colorado Rockies at 4:10 p.m. Gates will open to all fans at 2:10 p.m.Mental Health Awareness Day at Citi Field will help bring attention to the importance of mental health and wellness, while providing information and resources throughout the game. Prior to the start of the game, there will be a Mental Health Resource Center in the Bullpen Plaza, providing resources to advance the conversation around mental health and wellness. Carelon will also be activating in Mets Plaza prior to the game, distributing mental health-related information and giveaways to fans approaching the stadium.A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Mets alumni, Bill Pulsipher. A former second-round draft pick of the New York Mets in 1991, Pulsipher has spoken publicly about his battle with anxiety and depression.Additionally, the Mets will honor several organizations as their Mental Health Heroes of the game, each representing one of the Mets Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These organizations are being recognized for the mental health support they provide to their respective communities. In lieu of the traditional 7th inning stretch, the Mets will hold a mindful meditation. The Mets will also be working with their new partner, NewYork-Presbyterian, to continue the conversation about the importance of prioritizing mental health throughout Mental Health Awareness month and the entire season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 The mindful meditation is an interesting wrinkle. I hope it goes over well.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 And we're facing yet another lefty starter. What's the record for highest pct over a season I wonder. They gotta be close to a 50/50 ratio thus far.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 That's three ABs for Cron in the first ten innings of this series where he's hit w/2 runners on.We've gotten away with it so far but won't forever.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Hard working inning. Lots of pitches. Several generous B/S calls.Lucky to get out of there with just one scored.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Marv Albert looks great, and his wig hasn't aged a day
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 More emphasis on speed and base runningMore put the ball in playDefensively I would say the infielders are more "on point"Just my take
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 I was 10 in 1969, great sports year. I peaked early
Tamora Verified Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 More emphasis on speed and base runningMore put the ball in playDefensively I would say the infielders are more "on point"Just my takeTotally on board with the removal of players wasting time and slowing the game down unnecessarily. Have watched and listened to multiple teams so far this season and there are a lot of different starters and bullpen guys struggling to balance the pitch clock and opportunities to pick someone off which has certainly made for some interesting innings to put pressure on by stealing. I'm sure most will have adjusted by mid season to provide a defensive counterbalance.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Well that was lovely listening to Marv Albert , you could tell what it meant to Gary
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Nice to hear Bill Pulsipher talk about mental health
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Another lousy start from a pitcher who should be in the minors and yet he's not going anywhere.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 6, 2023 Posted May 6, 2023 Lindor second, McNeil third, and Marte sixth. That's the lineup I'm looking for tomorrow.
