kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 There are Met fans out there that think he's self-sabotaging himself, even if it's subconsciously, because he really, really wants to be Lindor's teammate again!Reason #16 to not stray far from The Pool.(Dwight Gooden approves this message)
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Anyone on Verizon still getting free MLB Extra Innings? The preview supposedlyexpired like a good week ago. Last year I did a monthly subscription on Prime for$24.99/month but haven't renewed yet because getting it free for now. The Prime subscription is actually better because you can watch prior games which isn't an option on the standard MLB Extra Innings on Verizon.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Fascinating. I think he's (Baez) bad because he got paid and doesn't have any reason to try

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2023 Author Posted April 15, 2023 NYY announcer botches a HR call... and it's not John Sterling!Instead it was Michael Kay earlier today crediting Giancarlo Stanton with a "long home run" on a shot that went off the wall for a double.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2023 Posted April 16, 2023 ... and speaking of the 1973 baseball season, it's deja vu all over again. The Mets are on a four game winning streak but haven't gained a single game -- or even half a game -- on the first place Braves during their streak as the Braves are on a six game winning streak of their own.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Francisco Lindor is leading all major leaguers in defensive bWAR and all major league position players in total bWAR. The only major leaguers with a higher total bWAR than Lindor are all pitchers (Cole, Ohtani, Freeland and Ashcraft).https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2023-batting-leaders.shtmlhttps://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2023-batting-leaders.shtml
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Dansby Swanson tied a Cubs record that had been standing since 1900.(from Yahoo Sports) Per ESPN Stats and Info, Swanson's achievement of recording at least three hits in a game on five occasions makes him the fastest player to accomplish that feat since at least 1900 for the North Siders.Really? Whose record did he tie?IMO, anytime a reporter says a record was tied (or the first time since ...) and doesn't tell us who held that record, they should have their BBWAA card suspended for a year. Especially one that had been standing for 120 years! Sloppy reporting.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 By saying "at least," the suggestion is that they really haven't confirmed anyone else achieving the feat. "ESPN Stats and Info" were the leaders on that report.
