They last led 2-1 early in a game nine days ago vs the Braves, one they'd go on to lose 11-3



But streaks are quirky and both of those will end, probably soon. What I really want out of this season

for them is last place and at a sub-.500 record. Right now they're 5-under and sinking fast. But their

schedule for the remainder of the season isn't very daunting so it's quite possible they'll resurface

above the break even point before the regular season is wrapped up.

I'm going to be tracking closely.

Judge HR'd again tonight (just once) but it wasn't enough as the Yanx lost to Washington

Now 61-66, they've got 35 games left and have to go 21-14 (.600 winning pct) in order to

finish over .500 (82-80) or 20-15 to finish exactly .500

So many people in Europe wear Yankee hats, it's really annoying. A kid in Prague was sitting on steps near our hotel, so I loudly proclaimed to my friend that Derek Jeter sucks. No reaction whatsoever. Later, we were in Budapest and I saw a woman with a Yankee hat, and said the same thing. She didn't react but her boyfiend said in a very New York accent, "Hey, whadda you, a Red Sox fan?" I have stopped doing that.

The MFY loss to Arizona, combined with the remaining 3 game series between Seattle and Houston, in which somebody will win 2, eliminates the MFYs from postseason conyention, which is pretty cool.

But not as cool as if they finish below .500 although that dream of mine is starting to slip away.

With seven left to play (starting with today's make-up with Arizona) they'd have to go 2-5 (3-4 to finish an even 81 - 81). After today it's a three game set @ TOR which will Shirley need the wins but then the final three @ 103-loss KCR



Not impossible, but I'm not counting on it.
