metirish Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Just saw this, going to be a fun division.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Damn, that makes the Phillies quite a bit better and the division a little tougher.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Phillies are going to hit
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 11 and 300, and he's a year younger than Judge. I'd be squeamish on the years, but the AAV is reasonable (he was worth more than Verlander last season). It will be interesting to see if it's frontloaded.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Seems like this has been a done deal for a while and they wee waiting or the meetings to announce it.Pfuckin' Phills.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Phils seemed to be high on rookie Bryson Stott -- 2019 1st round (14th overall) draft pick out of UNLV -- who played SS much of the 2nd half for them this past season. But I guess not high enough and Stott is likely to never be as good as Turner. But 11 years for a guy turning 30 in mid-season 2023, so turning 41 during final contract year ... has no one there heard of Albert Pujols?Gives them a helluva lineup for now though and maybe they'll transition Stott to 2B as Jean Segura is a FA
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 So between Harper and Turner, they have two $300 million+ contracts? Wow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Yeah, this doesn't shake me. Phils are stocking up on players who made their names with clubs from within their division. It gives everyone a reason to play hard and root hard against them. Here's hoping they deal Stott to Toronto, despite his Germanic name, and he gets 3,000 hits.
