Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Well, props to McNeil's physical therapist. His legs sure look healthy.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Tough situation to manage. You don't want to pinch-run for Alonso, but it's the eighth, and he's the tying run.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 It's hard for me to get too upset over the Nationals failing to beat the Braves, when the Mets are failing to take care of business on their own behalf. They have been (and still are) in a position to control their destiny, but at present it is the Braves, rather than the Mets, that are seizing the moment.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 I forgot to tell Lindor to not swing at the first strike.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 That's why you don't swing first pitch, Lindy.Bleier on with the bases loaded. Time to see if he's learned anything.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Take your time, Jeff. Deep breath. We don't need a slam. A single will do just fine. Breathe--and that goes for all of us.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Braves out in top 9.Nats with the game on their racquet trying not to go to a tie-breaker.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 First pitch against a new pitcher. Unbelievable. Awful.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 First-pitch swinging is wrong-headed.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 And Alonso didn't need no substitute runner!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 See, we don't need pinch runners for Pete.We could use a designated slider though. He's got the ugliest head-first in MLB.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Mattingly didn't bitch about the bad call to Vientos.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Diaz' first fastball rung up at 96. Don't know whether that's a concern.Guillorme, Nido (or a pinchie), Nimmo, and possibly Alonso in the bottom of the ninth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Well, that one hit 98, which is more in the neighborhood.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 That's domination, homes.

I have to assume his game plan on plays at the plate was never going to be "slide" under the old rules
